Historic Charleston + Christmas Down South – Borrowing Britain

With Christmas approaching in T-minus 6 days, Charleston is pulling out all the stops. I moved here at the perfect time of year – the people are jolly, the furniture sales are fab (#PTL for Black Friday) and the houses are even more decked out than usual. I moved here for one thing in particular: the quality of life. There’s something about moseying around historic downtown, upscale Southern fare and design inspiration around every corner (in fashion + interiors) that fill me with inexplicable joy. These people just get me, and I, them. It’s only been a couple months so far, but as I get settled in, I just can’t stay away from the beauty outside my window. So I’m giving you a visual tour to help you understand why Charleston makes it worth walking in heels on cobblestone streets in 30° weather.

The incomparable Husk – a must-do tucked away on Queen Street. Honestly doesn’t get much better than their Carolina Heritage pork (though their menu changes everyday).

Love these paneled porch ceilings painted blue to ward off evil spirits. Some say…

I found an unassuming coffee shop with a purple + pink exterior — the perfect ailment to a chilly day of walking!

Andddd my new goal in life is to have a Charleston single with a pink door like this one. Major heart eyes here!!

So there ya have it! Cristmas down South. I’m thankful to be heading back to Alabama for the 25th with my family, and I have lots of breakfast casserole, puppy love and Christmas classics in old theatres to look forward to. I hope your holidays are filled with lots of love and warmth. Stay merry, friends!
