Buongiorno friends! I’m Haley – an Alabama transplant spending most of these days across the pond. I first fell in love with this country during my travels abroad in 2015 (there was some studying of Italian culture in there too, I promise). Weddings are my passion, and I’ve been fortunate to spend the last 2 years in the most magical place on earth coordinating some pretty rad parties. But with my travel itch out of control, I jumped at the first opportunity to become a temporary nomad.
So here I’ll be documenting my adventures around Europe – the good, the bad, and the ugly. If you love pretty cities, charming people and photogenic food – let’s be friends. I hope this can be a source of inspiration and encouragement to my fellow solo travelers. And at the very least an outlet for all you other peeps with the wanderlust bug!
If you’re in it for the long haul, there’s a few things you should know about me. I could eat pasta every day for the rest of my life and be perfectly content. Bolognese, pear and cheese tortellini, cacio e pepe – is there such thing as a pasta connoisseur? I draw a lot of inspiration from tiles, and I’ll haul 20 lbs of hand-painted ceramic through the airport over postcards any day. I play the guitar and ukulele every chance I get and always try to have fresh flowers in my room. Give me ranunculus, and I’ll give you my heart! It doesn’t take much for me to burst into tears, and the most important Italian phrase I’ve retained is “posso accarazarlo” which means “Can I pet your dog”. I’ll try not to mention Chipotle too much, but you should know it’s my other half. And I really, really love puns. Prepare yourself now.
